One of two things can be the problem 1) the hands need to be realigned so the date turns over at 12:00. 2) the date wheel could have shifted and is rubbing against the the back of the dial. I do not recommend turning the crown with the watch out being opened. You could do some damage to the date wheel. Easiest solution to that mighty problem is to not look at the date window. Or have the movement serviced or swapped out. Or buy another watch. One of my Seiko watches has the reputation of dragging the day/date changeover out for close to 3 hours. That trait has no impact on my ability to get through the upcoming day.
You are supposed to change the date manually with the hands facing down at the dial (basically not close to midnight/noon), if you change the date quite often without adjusting the hands position first and leaving them close to midnight that could pontentially be the issue here. If it still does not change, or you see the date does not turn over to the next day at midnight, there may be a problem with the movement of your watch. In this case, the best thing to do is to take it to an Official Rolex® Service Centre, .
